Bali recognized as the best island in Asia

Bali ranked first in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller UK Readers’ Choice Awards, receiving a reader score of 98.86 — one of the highest in the award’s history. The American edition of the magazine also included the island in its top 10, demonstrating genuine interest in Indonesia’s jewel.
What are the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards
The Readers’ Choice Awards are among the most authoritative accolades in the global travel industry. They are held annually by leading luxury travel publications.
The results are based on online voting by more than 500,000 readers worldwide. Participants evaluate their personal experiences, including destinations, hotels, experiences, airlines, and resorts.
Condé Nast traditionally focuses on an audience that values quality, service, and authenticity. For this reason, the award results are closely monitored by investors, developers, and major hospitality brands.
Why Bali is once again in first place
Bali is no stranger to international recognition. In 2024, it was named “Best Island in Asia” by the same publication with a similar score. In 2025, the status was confirmed, and its position in the global ranking strengthened.
According to Indonesia’s Central Statistics Agency, from January to August 2025, Bali welcomed more than 10 million international tourists — 10.5% more than in the previous year.
What this means for the real estate market
Receiving such awards sends a strong signal for growth in tourist arrivals, as well as in rental rates and property values overall. The following are the key implications of Bali’s popularity and success for investors:
- Increased trust among mature markets, including the United Kingdom and the United States. The province is attracting a growing number of travelers and expats with higher average spending, reinforcing stable international demand. High-quality villas, eco-projects with wellness infrastructure, and commercial properties in developed areas are in particular demand.
- Rising land prices. New legislation aimed at protecting buyers, combined with the limited availability of land for development on the island, is driving price growth. Completed business-class projects and above are also increasing in value.
- High liquidity as Bali becomes a world-class destination. Generating income from renting apartments and villas, as well as their resale and refinancing, becomes more straightforward.
Recognition by Condé Nast Traveller is not a temporary trend. It can be regarded as an indicator of a stable and investment-attractive market with reduced risks.
