Jatiluwih Eco Farm

Jatiluwih Eco Farm

The famous Jatiluwih Rice Terraces in Tabanan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, have a new addition: the Jatiluwih Eco Farm.

The farm is a compact model of a traditional Balinese farm where tourists can get a closer look at the cultivation of rice, avocado, honey and other local crops. The project covers an area of about 2 hectares.

According to the terrace manager, I Ketut Purna, the idea of the farm is not only to tell about Bali’s agriculture, but also to remind people of the close connection between man and nature.

The Jatiluwih Eco Farm complements the rice terrace tours, where tourists are told about the subak irrigation system and the importance of rice in the island’s culture.
