Tourist villages

Did you know that Jatiluwih Village with its unique rice terraces has recently been included in the list of the best tourist villages in the world? Other villages in Bali are already following suit, eager to become part of this global trend.

Tourist villages offer a completely different experience. It is not just a short visit, but an opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and nature. For example, Penglipuran, one of the most famous villages, has been welcoming thousands of visitors daily since entering the world ranking in 2022.

For a village to become a tourist hotspot, it must meet four criteria:

Uniqueness: Something special, be it nature or culture, like the terraces of Jatiluwih or the architecture of Penglipuran.

Accessibility: Good roads, infrastructure and options for overnight stays.

Amenities: Restaurants, warungs and everything tourists need.

Management: A team that can develop the village and manage the flow of guests.

There are already 240 such villages registered in Bali, including Taro in Tegallalang, Munggu in Badung and Bakas in Klungkung.

Staying overnight in such places is a special pleasure. Sunrise and sunset over the terraces of Jatiluwiha, dining under the stars in Penglipuran or the morning calm without the crowds are experiences you won’t get in Kuta or Ubud.
