Cables have begun to be hidden underground in Bali

Cables have begun to be hidden underground in Bali

Bali's utility company has begun laying underground cables in Denpasar to help streamline chaotic ISP communications and improve the city's appearance. The first phase of the work will cover 10 streets, including Gajah Mada, Veteran and Nangka Selatan. Removing the cables will create an integrated communications system.

The CEO of Perumda BPS said the project is nearing completion. Laying underground networks requires temporary road closures. It is an expensive process, but it improves the reliability of communications, especially in bad weather.

In tourist areas such as Badung, the government also plans to remove overhead cables as part of the "Bright Badung" program to improve infrastructure for visitors to the island.
