Return of the Turtles

An annual natural phenomenon has once again been observed on the Kuta coastline - sea turtles have started coming ashore to lay their eggs. The season traditionally begins in April and gradually gains momentum, reaching peak activity during the summer months.
As of today, specialists have already discovered more than two dozen nests, which have been carefully relocated to a protected area at the Kuta Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center. Such measures are necessary because nests left in open beach areas remain vulnerable - they can be damaged by tourists or animals, especially dogs. Each nest may contain anywhere from several dozen to hundreds of eggs.
Environmentalists remind visitors that if they encounter a turtle or discover a nest, it is important to keep a safe distance and not interfere with the process. The best course of action is to inform the center’s specialists so they can ensure the safety of the future hatchlings.
In addition, every day in the late afternoon, around 5:00 PM, the beach hosts a public event: staff release newborn turtle hatchlings into the ocean. Participation is free - it’s not only a beautiful sight but also helps raise awareness about the conservation of marine life.
