Prabowo Subianto has officially become the new president of Indonesia
The inauguration ceremony took place in Jakarta at the Parliamentary Complex, where he took the oath of office alongside the new vice president, Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The term of the new president is set for 2024 to 2029.
Prabowo is expected to meet with foreign dignitaries, including about 20 heads of state, later on Sunday at the presidential palace. During his election campaign, he expressed his intention to tighten control over foreign workers, promised to create more jobs, develop small and medium-sized businesses, and focus on improving the welfare of the population. In addition, Prabowo has vowed to actively combat corruption in the country.
He has also guaranteed a fight against terrorism, strengthening the military, and supporting public order. In foreign policy, he plans to maintain neutrality, develop relations with all countries, and protect Indonesia's interests on the international stage.
Overall, he promises to continue the country's development in the spirit of the current president, which is indirectly confirmed by his choice of Gibran Rakabuming as vice president, the son of Joko Widodo.
Regarding Bali, Prabowo Subianto intends to revive the project for constructing an airport in North Bali. He has also paid attention to tourists' complaints about the declining beauty of the island and traffic problems, therefore he plans to restore Bali's former beauty and comfort.
