Bali Goes Green

The South Korean Ministry of Environment has funded the Bali E-mobility project, aimed at developing sustainable transportation on the island.
Deputy Minister Lee Byung Hwa arrived in Bali with the first 12-meter electric bus as a gift, while nine more buses, adapted to local conditions, are expected to arrive within the next 7–8 months. Alongside the buses, Bali will receive charging stations — with the total package valued at 75 billion rupiah.
The project focuses not only on the deployment of electric vehicles, but also on the creation of an investment roadmap to support emission reductions on the island, where transportation accounts for 43% of total greenhouse gas emissions.
The buses will feature a distinctive red, white, and black design, provide accessible transportation for both residents and tourists, and serve as a pilot model for scaling up green transport solutions across Indonesia.
